Toronto's Jesse Litsch had been in good form until he ran into the hot bats of the New York Yankee's on Wednesday. He gave up a season high 10 hits and 4 earned runs over 5 innings of work, before being pulled. Even with Wednesday's bad showing he has still allowed only 4 earned runs over his last 3 games. Litsch will be opposed by Seattle's Jarrod Washburn. Washburn is in terrible form not only over his last few games, but for the entire season. He has given up 25 hits and 15 earned runs over his last 3 games, and opponents are hitting .322 against him for the season. Litsch has pitched well at home, and the Blue Jays have won 2 of his last 3 starts. Washburn on the other hand has struggled on the road. Opposing teams are hitting .344 against him in road games, and Seattle has lost 8 of his last 10 starts. The Mariners are hitting .236 and scoring 4.36 runs a game against righties over their last 5 games, while the Blue Jays are hitting .324 and scoring 5.88 runs a game against lefties over their last 5 games.
