St. Louis has now won 6 of its last 8 games, and start Joel Pineiro who has been very impressive in his last 2 starts. Pineiro has allowed 5 hits and 1 earned run in 14 innings of work over his last two games. Reports state that he is fully recovered from a shoulder injury that plagued him during Spring Training, and the results of his last two games seem to prove that his shoulder problems are a thing of the past. Pineiro will be opposed by Ubaldo Jimenez of Colorado who has struggled with control problems this year. Jimenez has issued 22 walks in 29 innings of work and has made it to the 6th inning in only one of his 6 starts. The Cardinals are hitting .325 against righties over their last 5 games, while the Rockies are hitting .256 against righties over their last 5. Pineiro should have another solid outing, even if it is in Colorado.
